How to attend

These in-person gatherings are held each Saturday from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. You don’t need an invitation to attend.  Just show up at the Silverton Arts Center, 303 Coolidge , in Silverton, Oregon, 97381.

Being Comfortable

You may sit on the couch or one the chairs that are provided.  If you wish, you may bring a cushion, mat, or other surface to get situated on.

What we do

This is a time when you may find the time and circumstance to experience relief from your daily stressors and learn what it takes to counter those stressors when you go back to the outside world.

At each session you are provided with a refuge where you may be still and become aware of your body, feelings, emotions, and perceptions.   But more than being still, we will take time to focus your attention on life issues, be exposed to teachings on how to transform your thinking, acting and speaking so you may reduce suffering in yourself and others, express your thoughts about the challenges of facing those issues, and listening to others without trying to solve their problems.

If it seems appropriate, we may walk outside and experience a body scan.

You will learn to be present without judgment and address life with curiosity and acceptance.  That is the Art of Mindfulness.  Come join us!

Expressing Appreciation, Practicing Generosity

There is no fixed cost to attend these gatherings.  A donation of $20 is suggested.  In our effort to cultivate your mindfulness consider the practice of generosity as an antidote to greed and clinging.  Don't give because you have to.  Give because you want to.

*Topics Considered

  • At the first gathering of each month, we focus our attention on the Five Mindfulness Trainings.
  • At the other gatherings in the month topics are offered that address the myriad of life issues we all encounter such as Expectations, Communication issues, how to cultivate our mindfulness, and the need to offer compassion to yourself as well as others.
